On June 3, 4, and 5th, 2005, the Booneville School District and the Mississippi Community Education Center's Aiming For Abstinence Programs brought together over 80 students for a weekend of workshops. speakers, debates and discussions focused on abstinence. The "Rising To The Stars" retreat was held at Lake Tiak-O'khata in Louisville, Mississippi and focused on motivating and empowering teens to abstain from high-risk behaviors including tobacco, alcohol and other drugs with an emphasis on abstinence from pre-marital sex.
